    BROWNSVILLE, Texas (February 23, 2010) – A prospecting and marketing team from the Brownsville-Matamoros Borderplex met with more than a dozen companies and major media outlets in an effort to not only recruit business to the region, but brand this international area as well. The mission was spearheaded by the Brownsville EDC and joined by the Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation, Port of Brownsville and the Matamoros Maquiladora Association

    2010 forecast as ‘record year' for economic development project

    SAN BENITO — Residents here are counting on a wave of new business to create jobs and boost city coffers to fix streets and improve public services.  City Commissioner Bill Elliott, president of the San Benito Economic Development Corp., hailed 2010 as “a record year” for economic development projects here.  For San Benito, “a new day has dawned,” Elliott said.

    Harlingen, Texas – February 3, 2010 – The Harlingen Economic Development Corporation announced today that Tyco Flow Control, a business unit of Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC), intends to expand their facility in Harlingen, Texas, which is estimated to create over 50 new jobs.

    Tyco Flow Control plans on a multi-million dollar investment to add a 33,000 square foot expansion and additional equipment to its 80,000 square foot facility in Harlingen. The expansion could bring the total investment in the Harlingen facility to nearly $20 million.
