Reynosa, Mexico - Corning Cable Systems (CCS) Reynosa, Mexico celebrated the conclusion of the first Leadership Development Program in Latin America.

On May 25th, Corning Cable Systems celebrated with a dinner ceremony the completion of the Leadership Development Program for the first generation graduating team from the Reynosa, Mexico plant. The same event also served as a kick off for the second generation team, building a bench of strong leadership talent for Corning Cable Systems.

The Reynosa, Mexico Leadership Development Program graduating team was the first to complete this initiative within the Corning Corporation in Latin America. The development took over a year to be completed and allowed members of different areas within the company to improve their skills as leaders.

President and CEO of McAllen Economic Development Corporation, Keith Patridge, joined a team of Corning Cable Systems executives and staff during the event as a keynote speaker. “Smart companies are the ones that are preparing their workforce for the future,” said Patridge, “as demographics change, skills sets, and good people are going to make the difference between successful and unsuccessful companies.”

James Sanders, VP Manufacturing Americas, John Tobbin, Director of Corning Lab Products also delivered important messages to the graduating and incoming teams where they encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained during the course of this program and lead by example.

Each graduate received a star award and a diploma for their accomplishment. The commemorative t-shirt of the second generation was delivered to the new 13 members, distinguishing them as a better leader in process.
