PRESS RELEASE
HARLINGEN WILL GET TWICE DAILY NONSTOP DALLAS SERVICE

HARLINGEN-JUNE 2, 2012:  Southwest Airlines has announced two daily non-stop flights between Harlingen's Valley International Airport to Dallas' Love Field.  The new schedule will become effective on November 4, 2012, just in time for the holidays.  The new flights are scheduled to depart Harlingen for Dallas at 7:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.  The departures from Dallas to Harlingen are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 4:20 p.m.  Dallas is Southwest's second most popular destination from the Rio Grande Valley, while Houston remains number one.  "This is exciting news as the non-stop service to Dallas will compliment Southwest's legendary service from Harlingen to Houston Hobby, San Antonio and Austin.  We look forward to more Southwest destinations as they continue to prepare for expiration of the Wright Amendment in 2014," said Jo Rae Wagner, chairwoman of the Harlingen Airport Board.

In addition to the non-stop Dallas service, Valley travelers will benefit from two new daily non-stops between Houston Hobby and Indianapolis, and a daily nonstop between Houston Hobby and Orange County, CA.

Valley International Airport (HRL) is the largest airport in the Rio Grande Valley.  Nearly 800,000 passengers and visitors walk through our terminal annually.  Southwest Airlines with United Express offer nonstop service to Houston/Hobby, Houston/Intercontinental, San Antonio, Dallas/Love and Austin.  Sun Country Airlines offers seasonal non-stop service to Minneapolis/St. Paul.
