Income levels of local residents are on the rise in Rio South Texas, as are homeownership rates. The unemployment rate in the region has improved dramatically in past years.
College enrollment rates continue to climb and more advanced degree programs and research and development programs are taking hold. A medical school is even planned for the year 2015.
